RIAT Arrivals - Tornados, Typhoons & M2000

In the third of our RIAT arrivals air-to-air photoshoots, we focus once again on fast jets.

First on the list French Air Force Dassault Mirage 2000-5F from Escadron de Chasse 1/2 Cigognes (Fighter Squadron 1/2 Cigognes), based at BA 116 Luxeuil - Saint-Sauveur Air Base, it's always special to see the classic delta shape of the Mirage 2000 air-to-air.

Other classic fast jets in this report include a pair of Panavia PA-200 Tornados in special colour schemes to mark the 50th anniversary of the type's first flight, with one Tornado from the Italian Air Force 6° Stormo at Ghedi Air Base, and a Luftwaffe WTD 61 Tornado from Manching.

A pair of US Air Force Boeing F-15E Strike Eagles from the 492nd Fighter Squadron RAF Lakenheath completed the classic line up with a single pass under the Skyvan.

Moving to the more modern fast jets, two pairs of Eurofighter EF2000 Typhoons joined up, one pair was from the Luftwaffe, TLG 74 at Neuberg, and the other pair from the Royal Air Force, including Typhoon ZJ913 from the Typhoon Display Team (29 Squadron) based at RAF Coningsby, affectionately known as "Moggy".

While the RAF Display Typhoon was resplendent in it's WW2 D-Day camouflage markings, the Luftwaffe EF2000s weren't to be outdone, they brought along a Luftwaffe Airbus A400M transport aircraft for company.

A Big Thank You Goes To....
