Comments: Restored at Duxford to these striking 1950s training colours. Originally delivered to the RAF in November 1953, this particular Vampire was based at Oakington, near Cambridge, between November 1959 and March 1962, when it served with No.5 Flying Training School. It was transferred to No.8 FTS at Swinderby and then acquired by Hawker Siddeley in 1968 for possible resale. It joined the Imperial War Museum collection in 1973.
